Englands Rashid A Key Factor In T20 World Cup Loss

India's World Cup Drought Continues

England's Rashid a Key Factor in T20 World Cup Loss

India's 11-year World Cup title drought will continue after a loss to England in the semi-finals of the 2024 T20 World Cup.

England's Adil Rashid was a key bowler in the 2022 T20 World Cup knockouts, returning a combined analysis of 3 for 42 in eight overs against India. He was equally effective in the 2024 semi-final, taking 2 for 24 in four overs, including the crucial wicket of India's top scorer, Suryakumar Yadav.

India's batting lineup struggled to get going against England's disciplined bowling attack. Only Yadav and Hardik Pandya reached double figures, and the team was bowled out for just 168 in 19.3 overs.

England chased down the target with ease, reaching 169 for 3 in 17.5 overs. Alex Hales led the way with an unbeaten 86 off 54 balls, while Jos Buttler contributed 52 off 33 balls.

The loss is a major disappointment for India, who were hoping to end their long World Cup title drought. However, England were the better team on the day, and they deserved to win.
